Agile Motion transformed the development processes on key Lifeway projects that previously used legacy Waterfall methodologies into an Agile methodology utilizing Extreme Programming (XP). There were many XP principles/practices that were introduced to the team including User Stories, Release/Iteration Planning, Velocity Tracking, Paired Programming, Test-Driven development, etc.
One key project, The Lifeway Worship project, a web-based multi-million dollar worship music initiative, was built exclusively utilizing Extreme Programming. AMI resources implemented the changes necessary for the team of consultants/employees to follow XP practices with the design/development of the system. The team was actively involved in customer collaboration of capturing and implementing user stories. The outcome of utilizing these practices resulted in the successful implementation of the their music worship site.
Agile Motion performed consulting services for syng.fm building enterprise REST-based web services for accessing all of their music asset information for the catalog of music. The technologies used included Java, Spring, and other open-source technologies.
These REST-based services interfaced with Adobe Flex client applications offering an HTTP-centric set of services that were reusable by other alternate syng.fm clients.
Agile Motion designed and architected an enterprise layer of services that Adobe Flex-based clients used to deliver music/asset information for their catalog of unsigned artists. These services were REST-based and were built using Java, Spring, and Apache CXF. The services were designed to be extensible and reusable by multiple clients that Speakerheart is planning to build.
Agile Motion participated with other consulting companies in the redesign of the Art and Culture website from an Apple WebObjects architecture to a Ruby on Rails architecture. The site is a premiere site of many forms of art and music and is a leader in this space.
Agile Motion helped identify User Stories for features of the system and designed/developed multiple features of the web site. Each feature was implemented utilizing Test-Driven development TDD practices and functionally tested. AMI also helped implement Selenium for functional testing.
Agile Motion performed agile consulting and development services for Thomas Nelson Publishing. Our team helped transform their waterfall development processes into an iterative Scrum methodology. In addition, we performed agile enablement with their development team helping them to build a story backlog, initiate heavy customer collaboration, utilize test-driven development, hold retrospectives, and to adopt many other agile practices resulting in a successful implementation of their back-office product initiatives.
